Ephemeral: a Solo Bookmark Experience

Are solo games your thing? While I love solo games in concept, I don’t in practice. Sooner rather than later, most of them turn into homework. I don’t like journaling, you see. I also believe that solo games should be but brief affairs. Playable in mere minutes rather than taking hours to complete.

Enters Ephemeral. In Ephemeral, everything is pre-written for you. Pick a random novel from your bookshelf, read a paragraph here, a paragraph there, and spend 10 - 20 minutes of your precious time walking down random alleys and encountering formerly-insignificant side characters with their own, unwritten, unrealized dreams and ambitions... For your excursions, you may even use the same book as your source material two, three, perhaps even ten times, and yet, never run out of stories. Thus, imagining countless novels within novels. And then, if you ever do decide to read the whole damn thing, who knows? Maybe you’ll meet an old friend or two…
