J.P.'s Simple Cooperative D&D
A downloadable game
So, you want to play D&D... but there are too many rules. You've found a few friends (lucky you!) who are willing to play... but no one wants to Dungeon Master...
Wait! Don't leave the hobby yet! This game is what you just might need!
I've cut the fat (rules) so much that only a rough skeleton of D&D remains. Your character sheet is but a tiny card. You only need a d20 - no more funny dice. Also, NO Game Master. Everybody contributes to the emergent narrative.
Your Players don't care about your world? Well, guess what? In this game, you start by collaboratively building your own setting. Everybody adds to the world exactly what they want to see and do in your game. That way, all players will be personally invested in it.
Forget hundreds of pages of rules, tactical counting of squares, or 2-hour combat against 4 (!) goblins. The combat is super fast – Players do all the rolling, and you don't roll for damage. And the monster creation system is so simple, it should be illegal!
I'm half joking, of course. But hey – try it – maybe your noobie, non-gamer friends will find this to be a fun, little intro to our beloved hobby.
As usual, this game is a work in progress.
Happy gaming! J.P.
